Plastigauge PL-B:

It is used for measuring the clearance between parts in motion and stationary, such as gears and bearings. Plastigauge provides an exact and visible measurement of the operating clearances between parts in motion. It measures up to 0.010″ (0.250mm) using color bands on a card. The accuracy of Plastigauge can be determined by measuring the diameter of a brass rod that fits into the Plastigauge with the same clearance as the part being measured. The minimum acceptable accuracy of Plastigauge gauges is 0.0005″ (0.0127mm).
